There’s nothing better than feeling connected, to bond, whether we’re physically in a group, a church, a synagogue, an Ashram, a meeting, a picnic, a family meal, a celebration. We’re humans who thrive on being “part of” and enjoying a feeling of belonging. It’s in our DNA. The reason rehabilitation treatment clinics work so well for people (who ask for help) is the connection we get in and from belonging to groups of people, in rehabs. Addicts and alcoholics are forced out of their isolating behaviours. They can’t drink or drug, so the cravings and withdrawals are hellishly difficult in the beginning, but there’s enormous comfort being surrounded by people who are in the same or similar predicament, who do not judge and do not criticize. It’s a beautiful place to be, completely broken and defeated by our unhealthy behaviours, and now we are bonding with people who want only to get well and to see you get well.
This current Abundance Group, on WhatsApp, gives a sense of routine, accountability, fellowship and encouragement. It’s a “doing thing”, an activity. The moment you actually get out of your head, and into an action, you feel better, less isolated, less lost in your head, in that “dangerous neighbourhood” – Our Minds.
Another way to feel good and helps us feel connected, is to be invited. To be thought of, considered, remembered and included. This affects our “happy Hormones”, a natural anti depressant. So today I’m inviting YOU, to join us on a 21 day adventure, experiencing abundance in all its glorious forms.
The joy of technology is how connected we are. Our communications are insanely easy. Social media is both a good and terrible thing, depending on how addicted you become to it. Either we can check in to connect with friends and family, or we start scrolling and get ourselves completely lost down myriads of rabbit holes, videos, streams and links. When we become addicted, we lose time, and get high on the distraction. We come off social media feeling unhappy, “compared to” and “less than”. Naturally people only post the good stuff. Looking good, having fun, making a point, pontificating. Showing off. Showing on. I certainly wouldn’t go live on Facebook first thing in the morning, bed hair, morning crumples and sleepy eyes. It’s the same reason I wouldn’t go grocery shopping or to a meeting in my pajamas. I don’t want you to see me in my intimately private spaces. It’s all about appearances.
The reason a chat group is so successful is because it’s CONVENIENT. You can pop in at any time, not worry about how you look, and feel connected and inspired without setting foot out your door. The joys of tech comms.

So today the focus statement is “Today I behold all the abundance that surrounds me.”
Today’s exercise
Make a list of 50 people or things that you are grateful for, or have influenced your life in any way, big or small.
It could be a person, an animal, a planet, book, a teaching, a movie or anything or anyone.
Dive through your life and bring those positive influences in. Write down the name of the person or thing who touched you.
You are accountable for your own pace. Please make sure that you complete the exercises and meditations everyday.
What a marvelous way to start the day!
Namaste.
All gratitude to the most highly esteemed Deepak Chopra, who created this powerful program, free to use and share.
Enjoy
