Monday morning blues? Tuesday “Bluesday” patterns? and Drug Addiction

If you know somebody struggling with alcohol and/or drug addiction, missing Mondays at work or arriving late for work, please call us? We respect and honour your anonymity because we’ve been where you are now, and we know how to help.

You didn’t go through this all for nothing

Monday and Tuesday; the most difficult days of the week when it comes to drug addiction, especially when we’ve  spent the weekend drinking and/or drugging. How often I called in sick because I actually was too sick to get up! After a day nursing a mother of a hangover, the self hate and pathetic shame that I am a failure – again.

Dry mouth, thumping headache, because our body is processing and eliminating all the toxins we’ve imbibed which, at the time, made us feel good (relaxed / confident / brave / happy / alert / sleepy … insert your choice here).

We drink copious amounts of water, yet we feel soaked and bloated. Was it all worth it?

I’ve told myself many times that this isn’t going to happen again. This was my last binge. However, roll on Thursday, Friday evening and I’m back to forgetting about this Monday morning nausea and Tuesday ”Bluesday” depression.

I Feel You!

Is this a familiar scenario? If so, I totally relate to you. I tried to stop. I hated myself for repeating the drinking and remorse cycle again and again, I disappointed myself too many times to remember. In the end I threw my hands up in defeat because I couldn’t stop and so continued to poison my system with booze, pills and remorse.
