There are many support structures for people in recovery. We suggest that the best way to start a day is by reading approved recovery literature. It’s a lovely way to set the intention for the day ahead. Here are some of the day’s readings which explore daily challenges.
There are five suggested “Pillars” which help an addict or an alcoholic in recovery.
Higher Power. A connection to something greater than ourselves.
Stepwork. A self appraisal of our past and present. An honest exploration of ourselves.
Meetings. Keeps us connected to the Support offered by the recovery communities.
Service. By committing to a service position at a “home group” we begin to feel “part of” and needed. A whole new experience for an addict or an alcoholic who has been comfortable isolating.
Sponsor. Another person in recovery who is working their program. A person who answers your call when you can’t manage, especially in early recovery.
Wishing you all another clean, sober and Serene day.
